Fridays 10 Happy Things

So I've been reading the blog of Ms Helga Weber these few days and found her Friday's 10 Happy Things page. As per the founder, it’s a way of starting the weekend in a more positive note! So I'm in, let's go! :P

1. No rice for a week. Yes, that's an achievement! I've been wanting to eliminate rice for the longest time but my mind's telling me not to but this week I have managed not to crave for white rice. Yaas!

2. Sodas no more.

3. Smaller pores = Less oily face. I have an oily skin and I super hate it. I've read this post about this brand and I think it's working. I have now less visible pores and it lessens the oil in my face. Thanks God! FYI, I am only using the soap, I haven't tried the capsules yet. Maybe I'll post my review for this product soon.

4. Water. Water. Water. I've been drinking so much water now.

5. Loosen/broken brace brackets? Nah, this is the first time that I didn't break any of my brackets!

6. Friday means less calls. Peeps working in a BPO company can relate to this. Yes? :D

7. Got my 1500.00 GC incentive for the month of August. C'mon, 1500.00 is 1500.00.

8. Pasta and chips for my lunch! Yum. #MyFaves #Unhealthyisnothealthy

9. Yosh will be coming home na tomorrow! He's been away for a week 'cause he need to visit her Ate in Antipolo. Finally our home will never be empty anymore, chaar.

10. It's Friday Payday! Yaass!!!

There you have it, how was your week?

Wanna join in the fun? Please visit Helga's page and join in the link up.

EO Flexwear Allure in Natural Brown Review

Saturday, 24 September 2016

Let me just provide an overview of what happened to my previous contact lens before I do the review for this one. I’ve been using Clear View Kornea in Black and EO Flexwear Emotions in Henna Brown before and yes I use them alternately cause I want to have this mysterious effect a.k.a “doll eyes” when using the Black one and get a natural look using the brown one.

The Black one (Kornea of Clearview) is not actually  familiar in the market and not searchable in Google as well. I have tried the other color of this series which is Choco and what I love about this color is that  it blends well to my natural eyes plus the doll eyes effect.

For the past week, I’ve been using my Henna Brown much more than the Black one since it looks more natural  and I can use it in work. However, something happened that made me feel disappointed about this brand. I’ve been using it for almost two months but for some unknown reasons, it broke into two pieces when I was about to wear them one afternoon. So me, having no choice, I used the Black one for a whole week while I am in search for the new one.

I tried looking for the Clearview Kornea in Choco but I was shocked that it costs around 900.00 PHP in the mall and it’s  only good for 3 months! The last time I purchased this brand in a mall at Cubao, it only costs less than 500.00 PHP. Of course, I am not going to Cubao to try my luck finding this brand cause I need to go to work around 3:00 PM. I tried the other Optical clinic inside the mall but to no avail.

The last clinic that I visited on Wednesady was EO, I am still disappointed about their lens but I am desperate (LOL). I asked for their Henna Brown but too bad, my grade which is -4.00 for both eyes was not available that time and it will take 5 days to order one. I was like WHAAT! I NEED TO WAIT FOR ANOTHER 5 DAYS? NO FKNG WAY! Then I tried browsing the other brand of their lenses in the corner, most of lens that they have has this striking color/pattern that I don’t like a.k.a unnatural.

I was about to give up when I saw the new brand which is Flexwear Allure. This series has 3 variants, the Natural Brown was the one I selected tho I was hesitant at first because the lady told me that the diameter of this brand is 16mm (which is wrong when I check their website, *sigh.) But just like I said,  I was desperate; I gave in and asked the lady if they have -4.00 available for this brand. Just like the Henna Brown, it was not available and needs to be ordered first. The good thing about this was it will only take 2 days compared to the Henna Brown which was 5 days, yey! Plus, this one is cheaper than Henna Brown which is 690.00 PHP (I guess) while Allure Natural Brown is only 520.00 PHP and it’s good for one year.

It was Friday when I picked up the lens and I was really excited to try them on, so excited that  I forgot to take a picture of the package before I put it on the trash. This one came in a small vials compared to the usual blister pack. I start using this new lens on the same day and it looks like Henna Brown but bigger version! Love it! ♥

Below is the description from EO website.

Below is the comparison of my eyes with and without lens. You will easily notice which one has lens because of the enlargement effect.  And look how the color blends well with my eyes hence the name itself, Natural brown.

The flash might be too strong but yes, it looks like that. Lol. The "effect" might be different using phone's camera, I guess.

I didn’t experience any itchiness or blurriness in my vision for 8 hrs straight. This lens is comfortable that’s good for everyday use. So far, I’m loving this lens. Yay!

Oily Skin Essentials

Oily Skin Essentials

Having an oily skin is actually a pain in the ass and can be considered a curse to me. With this dilemma plus the hot weather in my country, you’ll never know how much effort I put and do to be fresh especially when going to work. Without anything on my face or with only loose powder, my face tends to oil up around half to an hour. And when I said oil up, I mean extreme oiliness, as in! It might not be noticeable but when you touch it? Ugh. *annoyed emoji here*

Finding the right product to lessen the sebum is really a struggle but I have here my list that I considered essential for everyday.

Products for Oily Skin

Let’s start with my facial wash. I’ve been using Himalaya Herbals Oil Control Lemon Face Wash for few weeks now, I’ve tried their Gentle Exfoliating Walnut Scrub and it’s good too! Yeah, so going back, this facial wash has this cooling effect of the Lemon extract plus Honey. This has blue beads in a gel-like consistency and has this scent that I can’t describe.😛 I bought mine at Watsons for  150.00 PHP and it can last for a month!

Next is my ELF BB Cream with SPF 20. I love this one and this is great for summer, unlike wearing a foundation, this one is lightweight. I got the shade Buff and the scent is something like vanilla with slight citrus smell. With this on my face, my face tends to oil up around 1-2 hours which is WOW!I forgot how much I got this one but this is available in malls and other beauty stores.

After the BB Cream, next is my mattifying powder which is Essence All About Matt!  Every since I discover this product, I didn’t look for another powder. *grin emoji here*  This one comes in white but once you put it on your face, it becomes transparent. It sets my ELF BB cream and makes my skin mattified. Downsides? It doesn't have sponge in it so either you purchase a separate sponge or use a brush instead to apply it on your face. Another boo for this product, it doesn’t have built-in mirror which is useful for retouching. And probably, the most annoying downside is the back of the container/case where you can locate the steel that holds the product and the cover (sorry, I don’t know how to describe it). It seems that the steel loosens and the back of the container breaks as you use the product over the time. But hey, the product itself is a miracle and great for oily skin and it only costs 269.00 PHP.

Next is blotting paper, this is something that’s always available in my bag. I am not actually particular what brand as long as it will do its job to remove the sebum from my face. I usually bought mine at Watsons, and the one that I have is only 31.00 PHP. Cheap and useful.

And the last one is mirror, a big mirror, this is actually  just a  miscellaneous cause I am not contented with small mirror. Since I have an oily skin, I am always conscious about my face, I tend to check it from time to time to see if I’m already shiny and If I need to retouch. In the picture, you’ll see my 4-yr old mirror.

So there! I hope the products I stated above will help you as well to lessen/remove the excess sebum from your face.

What' your essentials? Share me your thoughts!
